Adverse effect of Gynecomastia

  • Tumour that secretes prolactin - Milky discharge from the nipple is not a common finding but can be found in a gynecomastia person.
  • Other potential symptoms of gynecomastia include a rise in the areola's diameter and asymmetry in chest tissue.

The Solution is Liposuction Surgery

Liposuction is the method that is used in situations where gynecomastia mainly occurs because of excess fatty tissue. This includes a cannula, a thin tube, to be implanted through multiple minor insertions.

It is a controlled motion where the cannula is rotated back and forth to loosen the extra fat, which is then extracted from the body by vacuum suction.

Generally, the swollen breast tissue goes away within two to three weeks after birth. In most cases, the swollen breast tissue will go away without treatment within six months to two years.
Gynecomastia is most commonly caused by an imbalance between the hormones estrogen and testosterone. Estrogen controls female traits, including breast growth. Testosterone controls male traits, such as muscle mass and body hair.
Clomiphene can be used to treat gynecomastia. It can be taken for up to 6 months. The selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) tamoxifen, has been shown to reduce breast volume in gynecomastia, but it was not able to eliminate all of the breast tissue.

Testosterone replacement has been effective in older men with low levels of testosterone, but it is not effective for men who have normal levels of the male hormone. Clomiphene can be used to treat gynecomastia. It can be taken for up to 6 months.
